Scotch Plains Fireworks Postponed Until Sunday

Inclement weather has moved the celebration to Sunday. Check out the details inside.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day.

We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around town so you can start planning now.

Scotch Plains has made the decision to celebrate early this year, here are the details:

  • What: Independence Day Fireworks
  • Where: Scotch Hills Golf Course
  • When: Sunday, June 30 at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday June 30, the Township of Scotch Plains will host its annual Independence Day Fireworks at the Scotch Hills Golf Course.

This year’s celebration will feature a performance by The Scotch Plainsmen, a talented group of musicians who have performed as the backup band for our own Pat DiNizio of the Smithereens during his solo performances.

The fireworks will go off at dusk and organizers note no heels will be allowed on golf course but blankets and chairs are encouraged. The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA will host a “Red, Y, and Blue” station with activities for kids from 7:30 to 9 p.m. and food vendors will be on site throughout the evening. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the premises.
