Scotch Plains launched a newly designed town website last week.
Mayor Kevin Glover mentioned the site and gave kudos to the tech team who put it together at last week's Scotch Plains council meeting.
The new site features a banner of Scotch Plains photos across the top of the site, followed by categories to direct visitors.
A "Document Library" category offers quick access to forms, permits and licenses – plus council meeting agendas and minutes.
Also more prominent is a calendar with town events and recycling and meeting schedules.
At last week's meeting, Councilman Bo Vastine said he felt that instead of the mayor having his own contact page on the site, it be changed to the new town manager.
"In our form of government, that’s where the response would come from," said Vastine at the meeting. "I think it would be more appropriate and more efficient for residents to get answers."
The mayor said he agreed and suggested that the town add councilmembers' committee assignments to the site, so resident can reach out to the appropriate member with specific concerns and issues.
