Scotch Plains Library Summer Reading: Crafty Mondays in July

SPF adult cardholders & teens entering grade 8 & up who attend with an adult are invited to register for July's Crafty Mondays.

The Scotch Plains Public Library is celebrating A Universe of Stories this summer. The staff, along with the library’s special guests, will explore the depths of outer space and share stories from around the world. Please visit scotlib.readsquared.com to register for summer reading, where patrons can earn points for reading, attending programs, and other activities.

In addition, Scotch Plains and Fanwood adult cardholders, and SPF teens entering grade 8 and up who attend with an adult, are invited to register for these upcoming creative events:

Crafty Mondays will begin with Cross-stitch Constellations on July 1 at 10 am. Learn simple techniques to create a piece of constellation art. Beginners are welcome and all supplies will be provided.

On July 8 at 11 am (right after Bagels & Books), join the staff to Make Your Own Notepad. Use the library’s bookbinding machine to make a pocket-sized notebook and decorate the cover to match your personal style.

Create a Button Moon Mosaic on July 15 at 4pm. Arrange colorful buttons in the shape of a crescent moon.

Learn a simple technique for Paper Marbling with elegant results on July 22 at 10am.

Beaders of any skill level are invited to make a Solar System Bracelet with Perthea Brown on July 29 at 10am.
