Scotch Plains Municipal Parking Lot Closing Multiple Dates For World Cup Events
The lot will be closed June 12, June 19, June 25 starting at 2 p.m., and July 19 — residents should plan for limited parking.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Residents heading to Scotch Plains Municipal Building over the next several weeks should plan ahead — the parking lot will be closed on multiple dates due to World Cup-related events, and officials are urging the public to allow extra time when visiting the building.
The first closure is Friday, June 12, when the lot will be shut down for the full day. The lot will close again the following Friday, June 19, also for the full day. On Thursday, June 25, the closure begins at 2 p.m., so morning visits should not be affected. The final scheduled closure is Sunday, July 19.
On the days the lot is fully closed, residents may experience delays finding alternative parking and should expect a longer walk to the municipal building. Handicap parking will remain available in the lot on June 12, June 19, and July 19. No mention of handicap accommodations was made for the June 25 partial closure.
