Scotch Plains Officials Talk Safety Following Florida Shooting
Scotch Plains Mayor and Police Chief both were featured in a video offering their condolences following the Florida school shooting.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Mayor Al Smith and Police Chief Ted Conley both shared a video where they offered their condolences to the families who tragically lost their loved ones in the Florida school shooting on Wednesday.
Smith and Conley also reminded residents about the importance of safety precautions.
The shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, injured at least 14 other people who were hospitalized late Wednesday night, according to a Patch report. The shooting happened after a fire alarm was pulled, prompting students and staff at the school to evacuate. The accused gunman is a former student at the school.
