On Friday, September 2 at NOON, join community members for a viewing of Suffragette (PG-13, 106 min). In this galvanizing feminist drama, a working-class laundress in 19th century London becomes radicalized when she meets a brave cadre of women organizing to obtain the vote. Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, and Meryl Streep star.
On Thursday, September 8 at 7 pm, Mary Walton will discuss her book A Woman’s Crusade: Alice Paul and the Battle for the Ballot. Copies will be available for sale and to be signed. The evening will also include a voter registration drive with members of the League of Women Voters.

On Friday, September 9 at NOON, join community members for a viewing of Iron Jawed Angels (PG-13, 125 mins). In this powerful story, defiant young activists take the women's suffrage movement by storm, putting their lives at risk to help American women win the right to vote. It is based upon Alice Paul, Lucy Burns, and many other significant American abolitionists.
On Monday, September 12 at 7 pm, the Evening Book Club will meet to discuss The Boys in the Boat by Daniel Brown.

On Tuesday, September 13 at 10 am, the township nurse will be at the library for free blood pressure checks. Trained SHIP representatives will also be here to answer any questions you may have about Medicare coverage. Both services will take place in the Adult Room in a one-on-one format.
On Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30 pm, New Jersey author and civil rights activist, Junius Williams, Esp. will discuss his book, Unfinished Agenda: Urban Politics in the Era of Black Power. Copies will be available for sale and to be signed. Registration is recommended. This program is co-sponsored by the Library and Social Justice Matters.
On Thursday, September 15 at 7:30pm, attend our SCORE workshop: Introduction to Government Contracting. Learn how to find governmental customers, navigate the procurement process, and assess whether this would be a good market for your business.
On Friday, September 16 at NOON, join community members for a viewing of North Country (R, 126 min). This film features a fictionalized account of the first major successful sexual harassment case in the United States -- Jenson vs. Eveleth Mines, where a woman who endured a range of abuse while working as a miner filed and won the landmark 1984 lawsuit.
On Saturday, September 17 at 2 pm, a gallery reception will be held for the adult art students of Sandra Cerchio. Celebrate their work and enjoy some snacks.
