4 Men Charged With Selling Fentanyl, Cocaine In Secaucus

$65,000 worth of cocaine and $9,000 worth of fentanyl were seized. Four men were arrested Wednesday on Mill Creek Drive.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Four people were arrested Wednesday after a months-long investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in Secaucus.

The news was announced by Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez Friday morning. The Hudson County Prosecutor's headquarters are in Secaucus.

The charges are the result of multiple narcotics transactions that occurred in Secaucus and Kearny between April 2023 and July 2023, said Prosecutor Suarez.

The Secaucus Police dog Brix worked on the case and helped uncover evidence that led to the criminal charges; the prosecutor did not specify how.

All four men were arrested on Mill Creek Drive in Secaucus Wednesday and transported to the Hudson County Jail in Kearny pending their first court appearances.

During the course of the investigation, over two kilograms of cocaine – with a street value of approximately $65,000, plus more than 125 grams of fentanyl, with a street value of more than $9,000 and more than $6,000 in suspected proceeds from drug sales were seized.

The four men charged:

Franklin Rodriguez-Liberto, 40, of Jersey City, is charged with multiple counts of having and selling fentanyl and cocaine, as as well as the illegal sale of marijuana and money laundering.

Richard Pena-Rodriguez, 37, of Union City, is charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and cocaine.

Steven Reyes, 44, of North Bergen and Christopher Delacruz, 24, of New York are both charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the DEA, Elizabeth Police, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Hudson County Regional SWAT, the Secaucus Police Department K9 Unit and the Bayonne Police Department K9 Unit with the investigation and arrests.
