1. Woman Left Keys In Car, Car Stolen In Secaucus (patch.com) — A Secaucus driver who left her keys in a 1996 Honda Accord outside the Wendy's/Dunkin' Donuts on Meadowlands Parkway returned to find the car stolen. Working with the New Jersey State Police Auto Theft Task Force, Secaucus officers identified and arrested a Houston woman, who now faces burglary and motor vehicle theft charges and is being held at the Hudson County jail.
2. Secaucus Police Blotter, Sept. 14 - Sept. 20 (patch.com) — Secaucus residents can see a full rundown of last week's police activity, including a Bronx driver stopped on a warrant, the arrest tied to a car theft at 16 Meadowlands Parkway, and several local warrant cases. Officers also responded to Huber Street School, where a Secaucus parent was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after a reported injury.
3. Hudson Regional Health cites community leaders at Secaucus University Hospital's 50th anniversary event (roi-nj.com) — Secaucus residents are being recognized as Hudson Regional Health marks Secaucus University Hospital's 50 years serving the town and Hudson County. Local leaders, longtime doctors, and a veteran firefighter-turned-official were honored for decades of service, with Mayor Mike Gonnelli and the town council presenting proclamations during the well-attended celebration.
4. Construction will disrupt NJ Transit this fall. What to know (northjersey.com) — Secaucus commuters face major NJ Transit disruptions this fall, with about half of weekday trips between Newark and Secaucus cut for five weeks during Portal Bridge cutover work. Riders will see longer travel times, shifting weekend schedules, and some connections moved to Secaucus station while trains are diverted to Hoboken.
5. Secaucus data center spill: NJ's largest, still unresolved (nj1015.com) — Secaucus residents are dealing with the aftermath of New Jersey's largest recorded data-center fuel spill, after about 5,500 gallons of diesel leaked from an Equinix facility on Hartz Way into Anderson Creek. Local fire officials, state DEP, and health authorities responded, but questions remain about environmental damage, enforcement actions, and how upstream data centers affect downstream communities like Secaucus.
