August And Sept. Events At Secaucus Public Library
On Saturday, Sept. 22 there will be the first-ever classic car and motorcycle show at the Secaucus library! Plus a petting zoo and more!

SECAUCUS, NJ — What's our town library doing at summer's end? Here are all the August and September events at the Secaucus public library:
Summer Book Sale begins at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 8th! Books, CDs and DVDs, used and new, will be sold in the library's first floor lobby throughout the weekend, during all library operating hours. All items are priced at just $1.00! Stock up and support the Friends of the Secaucus Public Library! All proceeds benefit Secaucus Public Library programs and collections.
Monday, August 13th. 3 p.m. Paws for Reading. Read to Rodney and Baby Ruth in the Children's Department Story Tower. The small, friendly therapy dogs like showing off their keen fashion sense, meeting new people (especially children) and having stories read to them. Don't forget to RSVP!

Friday, August 17th. 3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m. Teen Advisory Board. Join the Teen Advisory Board and help plan programs that you and your peers would like to see at the library. Advise us on books and movies that you would like to see at the library. Come, make friends and ... there will be plenty of snacks!
Monday, August 20th. 1:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Summer Blood Drive. Walk-ins Welcome! Each donor will receive a $10 off Houlihan's coupon as a thank-you. For more information, call New Jersey Blood Services at 1-800-933-2566 or visitnybloodcenter.org

Tuesday, August 21st. 7 p.m. Ask a Lawyer: How the Court Determines Child Support. Robert Zych, Attorney at Law, will talk about how child support is determined. Bring questions to be answered as part of an open discussion.
Monday, August 27th - Friday, August 31st. 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Second Annual Maker Camp. Students 8 and up are invited to explore, design and build during our five day maker camp. Sign up for individual daily programs or for the whole week.
Thursday, September 6th. 7 p.m. Adult Nonfiction Book Club. Meets on the first Thursday of each month. At the September meeting, the club will discuss "Isaac's Storm" by Erik Larson. Copies available at the circulation desk.

Tuesday, September 11th. 7 p.m. "Can We Talk?" Adults 18+ are invited to join us for the first meeting of a discussion group dedicated to fostering conversations on vital issues in an open-minded, non-confrontational environment.The topic for our first meeting will be Words Matter. We'll use a variety of television and Internet video clips in order to kick off our discussion. Light refreshments will be served.
Sunday, September 16th. 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Babar the Elephant & The Phoenix Woodwind Quintet: a family concert.
Saturday, Sept. 22 Be Part of Our First Annual Classic Car & Motorcycle Show!
Join the Friends of the Secaucus Public Library for a day of classic automobiles, delicious food, great music, vendors, 50-50 raffles, pony rides, petting zoo animals, children’s activities and more!
Free admission for all spectators!

Sunday, September 23rd. 1 p.m. The Independent Film Discussion Series returns with a screening of Mudbound, a 2017 drama set in WWII-era Mississippi. The series continues on October 21st with the 1970 drama The Boys in the Band.
Wednesday, September 26th. 7 p.m. An Evening with author Jon D'Amore. D'Amore returns to Secaucus for a reading and signing of his latest novel, "The Delivery Man."
Wednesday, October 10th. 7 p.m. An Evening with author J.D. Griffo. Local author J.D. Griffo will be visiting the library for a reading and signing of his new mystery novel "Murder on Memory Lake."
