Dave & Buster's Opens At Willowbrook Mall In Wayne Feb. 14

WAYNE, NJ — The second Dave & Buster's in New Jersey plans to open Feb. 14 at the Willowbrook Mall in Wayne. The Dave & Buster's will be located above the Sears.

There will be an invite-only preview event Feb. 13. The restaurant will officially open with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Feb. 14 at about 10:40 a.m., the company announced.

The company is in the process of hiring more than 300 people for the Wayne location.

This will be the first Dave & Buster's in northern New Jersey. The state's first Dave & Buster's opened in Woodbridge at the Woodbridge Center Mall Nov. 14. If the Woodbridge location is any indication, Secaucus residents are in for a good time: The 34,000-square-foot Willowbrook location will feature more than 150 arcade games, including all the latest offerings such as Spider-Man, World's Largest Pac-Man, Angry Birds and Space Invaders Frenzy.

Until recently Dave & Buster's could not open in New Jersey, because of a long-standing statewide ban that prevented alcohol from being served where games of chance were offered. The law was originally created to protect Atlantic City.

But, eager to get into the Jersey market, the chain lobbied the New Jersey legislature for years to get the law overturned. Two years ago, Gov. Chris Christie lifted the ban.

Some of the big-ticket items you can win include a PlayStation 4 Pro, iPad Pro and xBox. Dave & Buster's also partners with Marvel Comics, DC Comics, and has games that tie into the releases of upcoming movies.

For the adults, there's a full bar, 12 beers on tap and a massive sports bar with 12 satellite dishes. Dave & Buster's broadcasts all NFL games, UFC fights and boxing matches. There are three laser projector screens for big-screen events.
