Mail Being Stolen From Blue USPS Boxes Around Secaucus

Mail has been stolen from the corner of Pandolfi and Golden avenues and the mailbox at the municipal lot at Centre and Chestnut.

SECAUCUS, NJ — As we've reported before, Secaucus police are reporting a series of mailbox thefts, where thieves are fishing mail out of blue U.S. postal service boxes around town.

In these latest incidents, mail was stolen after Dec. 17, police said.

Mail has been stolen from mailboxes on the corner of Pandolfi and Golden avenues and the mailbox at the municipal lot at the intersection of Centre Avenue and Chestnut Street, said Secaucus police. If you placed mail in either of these mailboxes on or after December 17, it may have been stolen and the police would like you to come to the station and complete a report.

Thieves are using a sticky material to retrieve mail in the hopes of securing checks and are then altering and cashing them.
