Man Touched Women, Girls At Union City Pool, Prosecutor Charges

This man touched multiple women and girls at the Union City pool, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez alleged on Tuesday.

SECAUCUS, NJ — This man touched multiple women and girls at the Union City pool, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez alleged on Tuesday.

On Sunday, Ashokbhai Vaddoriya, 40, of Jersey City was taken into police custody on charges relating to sex crimes on two women and two girls at the Union City public pool.

The victims were a 12-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, a 33-year-old woman and a 34-year-old woman, said the county prosecutor.

The man did not know them. The unwanted sexual contact occurred while they were waiting in line and in the actual pool itself.

Vaddoriya is charged with two counts of sexual assault by contact, in the second degree, two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual contact.

He was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance. The Hudson County Prosecutor has filed a detention motion, which means she would like him to held in jail, and that hearing is tentatively scheduled to be heard this Friday.

This investigation and arrest was done by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and Union City Police.
