• NJ Transit Cuts Newark-Secaucus Trains in Half for Five Weeks of Portal Bridge Work (thesunpapers.com) — If you rely on NJ Transit between Newark and Secaucus, prepare for five weeks of sharply reduced trains starting Sunday, October 11, as crews finish shifting tracks to the new Portal North Bridge. Many Midtown Direct trains will detour to Hoboken instead, but PATH, NY Waterway and NJ Transit buses will honor tickets while the work wraps up.
