Secaucus Colombian Restaurant To Become Dance Studio
The Paterson Plank Rd. space formerly occupied by Noches de Colombia is slated to become a ballet, hip hop, jazz and salsa dance studio.
SECAUCUS, NJ — Goodbye arepas, hello salsa lessons? The prime-Paterson Plank Road real estate that once held the Colombian restaurant is slated to become a dance studio for children and adults.
The location formerly occupied by Noches de Colombia ('till that 2020 fire) will become Carolina Rosa Arts Academy, which describes itself as a "dance hall/dance studio," and which also offers private and group dance lessons.

A sign on the door directs the public to their website — https://carolinarosaartsacadem... — where the dance studio says they will offer children's ballet classes starting at age 3, hip hop dance lessons for children starting at age 3, jazz for children 7 and up, tumbling and adult group salsa classes. They even provide kids' salsa lessons on request and Mommy & Me/Daddy & Me dance sessions for 1.5 to 3-year-olds.

You can also rent out their hall for private parties. The space can seat up to 200, says the company. This same company, Carolina Rosa Arts Academy, already operates a party hall at 336 Central Avenue in Jersey City.
According to the most recent 2020 U.S. Census data, Secaucus has witnessed a population boom in the past 10 years, particularly among young families and children. So we predict this kind of business will do well in town, and wish them the best of luck.
Secaucus Noches de Colombia was permanently closed by a fire: Like nearly all restaurants in New Jersey, Noches de Colombia Secaucus suffered in the forced pandemic shutdowns. But the restaurant was able to stay open, serving takeout and then set up a large tent in front about halfway through the pandemic. Then at 4:30 in the afternoon in October 2020, a three-alarm fire broke out in the rear of the restaurant. The restaurant never reopened. The space has sat empty since.
