Secaucus Library Offers Free Program To Get Your High School Degree

SECAUCUS, NJ — The Secaucus Public Library is proud to offer a new program called Excel Adult High School, to help people get their high school degree.

The program is designed for busy adults who want to get their high school diploma. The program is all online, and people can take the courses at their own pace.

You have to apply, but if you are selected it is entirely free to students.

The Secaucus Library pays for the program, and it does have a limit on how many people it can pay to enroll each year. You must apply online and have an in-person interview with the library staff coordinating this program. You also have to take an online course (also free) before you begin.

Once in the program, there are instructors and tutors to help you earn the degree. The online curriculum is accessible 24/7, which is helpful to those balancing work and family obligations. Students are given up to 24 months to complete the program, but many finish sooner, as high school, GED and HiSet credits are accepted.

Excel Adult High School is brought to public libraries by Gale, part of Cengage Group.

“We’re delighted to partner with Secaucus Public Library to offer Excel Adult High School and give residents the chance to obtain this important credential and open the door to new opportunities," said Paul Gazzolo, a senior vice president at Gale.

"Earning a high school diploma is a key stepping-stone to achieving long-
term goals,” said Lisa Machno, branch manager of the Katherine Steffens Library Annex.
