Secaucus Police Blotter, April 11 - April 17

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:

On April 11 at 6:15 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of an individual sleeping in the receiving area. During the investigation, the police arrested a 33-year-old male, Marquise Johnson of Paterson, NJ for Criminal Trespass [2C:18-3A] and Theft of Mislaid Property [2C:20-6]. Johnson was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On April 11 at 2:39 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s located at 3 Millcreek Drive on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 26-year-old female, Yasmila Matos of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)]. Matos was issued her complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On April 12 at 4:13 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 23-year-old male of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Lodi, NJ in the amount of $500 with a 10% option. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 2 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On April 13 at 12:00 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the area of 900 Castle Road on a report from On Star of a stolen motor vehicle possibly in the area. A man was driving a Penske rental truck that was reported stolen out of North Carolina, said police. Supreme Laboo, 32, of Scotland Neck, North Carolina for Receiving Stolen Property [2C:20-7A]. The police also arrested a second man, 32, from Newark, for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark the amount of $2,500 and one outstanding warrant issued out of Union, NJ in the amount of $500.00 with a 10% option. Laboo was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody. Newark PD released the other man on his own recognizance pending a future court date.

On April 14 at 6:00 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Hudson Regional Hospital located at 55 Meadowlands Parkway on a report of an individual who was refusing to leave after he was discharged. During the investigation, the police arrested a 35-year-old male, Jamaal Gilbert of Hoboken, NJ for Defiant Trespass [2C:18-3B] and Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)]. Gilbert was also found to have 3 outstanding warrants issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $1,350 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Hoboken, NJ in the amount of $2,500. He was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On April 14 at 8:55 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot located at 1055 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 23-year-old male, Jose Santospena of Yonkers, NY for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)] and Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)]. Santospena was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On April 15 at 11:25 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 32-year-old man of Paterson, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Haledon, NJ in the amount of $500. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.

On April 15 at 11:33 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 31-year-old man of Bogota, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Fair Lawn, NJ in the amount of $500. He was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 3 motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

On April 15 at 8:32 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the area of 500 Rt. 3 West on a report of a motor vehicle that had struck a pole. During the investigation, the police arrested a 55-year-old man of Queens Village, NY for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. He was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional three motor vehicle summonses and was released into the custody of a responsible adult. (Note: Secaucus Patch does not publish the names of those charged with DWI, as it is considered a traffic violation. In New Jersey, DWI is not considered a felony or even a misdemeanor crime.)

On April 16 at 9:00 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to 120 Park Plaza Drive on a report of an individual unlawfully entering an apartment. During the investigation, the police arrested a 23-year-old male, Jose Santospena of Yonkers, NY for Criminal Trespass [2C:18-3A]. Santospena was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On April 16 at 1:36 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Extended Stay America located at 1 Meadowlands Parkway on a report of a possible lewdness incident. During the investigation, the police arrested a 30-year-old man, Kyle Cranford of Staten Island, NY for Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to law enforcement. Cranford was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On April 17 at 1:46 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 25-year-old man of Secaucus, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. He was issued his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional 4 motor vehicle summonses and he was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

On April 17 at 4:33 a.m., Secaucus Police observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of the PNC Bank in Plaza Centre. During the investigation, the police arrested a 31-year-old male, Leoncio Fermin of Newark, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50] and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, an expandable baton [2C:39-3E]. Fermin was issued his complaint summons along with his motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated and an additional 2 motor vehicle summonses and he was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
