Secaucus Police Blotter, May 15 - 21

A man was charged with package theft from the delivery room of The Harper last week. All the arrests made by Secaucus Police:

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:

On May 16 at 9:51 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Plank Road Inn located at 1538 Paterson Plank Road on a report of a dispute and possible assault. During the investigation, the police arrested a 27-year-old male, Ruben Jimenez of Harrisburg, PA for Simple Assault [2C:12-1A(1)]. Mr. Jimenez was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On May 17 at 5:32 p.m., Secaucus Police observed a motor vehicle disabled in the area of 190 County Avenue. During the investigation, the police arrested a 32-year-old female, Sasha Stokes of East Orange, NJ for 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Essex County Sheriff’s Office with no bail and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $2,500. Stokes was subsequently transported to the Essex County Jail.

On May 18 at 12:42 p.m., in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in relation to a shoplifting incident that occurred on April 30 at Walmart located at 400 Park Plaza Drive, Secaucus Police arrested a 38-year-old female, Shaquana Jones of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)]. Ms. Jones was arrested after she entered Secaucus Police Headquarters located at 1203 Paterson Plank Road for the purpose of turning herself in for the outstanding warrant. Ms. Jones was issued her complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On May 18 at 5:27 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 24-year-old male, Nicolas Rodriguez of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $2,000 with a 10 % option. Police also arrested a 37-year-old male, Leon Green of Union City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Bayonne, NJ in the amount of $2,500 with a 10% option. Mr. Rodriguez was able to post bail for the involved warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody. Mr. Green was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.

On May 19 at 3:38 p.m., Officers from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office responded to Secaucus Police Headquarters and transferred custody of a 53-year-old female, Maria Frangos of Secaucus, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $1,000. The Secaucus Municipal Court did release Ms. Frangos on her own recognizance pending a future court date and she was released from police custody.

On May 19 at 2:36 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to The Harper apartments on a report of an individual stealing packages from the delivery room. During the investigation, the police arrested a 47-year-old male, Jason Perez of Secaucus, NJ for Theft [2C:20-3A]. Mr. Perez was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On May 20 at 7:38 p.m., State Police officers responded to Secaucus Police headquarters to transfer custody of a 26-year-old male, Leroy Thomas of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ for the charge of Eluding [2C:29-2B]. The warrant was issued in relation to an eluding incident that occurred on Jan. 23 of this year. Mr. Thomas was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

On May 20 at 10:57 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot on a report of a shoplifting. During the investigation, the police arrested a 60-year-old male, Fernando Delgado of Ridgefield Park, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)]. Mr. Delgado was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

On May 21 at 3:27 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 50-year-old male, James Lee of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Red Bank, NJ in the amount of $600 with a 10 % option. Mr. Lee was able to post bail for the involved warrant and was released from police custody.

These charges are merely accusations and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
