Secaucus Police Blotter, Oct. 17 - Oct. 23

There were multiple arrests at the town's hotels/motels last week:

SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police, all of last week's arrests:

At 6:39 a.m. on Oct. 17, Secaucus Police responded to the Candlewood Suites located at 279 Secaucus Road on a report of a man who had unlawfully entered an employees' area of the hotel. It was further reported that the man also performed a lewd act, specifically exposing himself to a hotel employee while he was in the area. During the investigation, police arrested a 38-year-old man, Daniel Cater of Brockton, MA for Lewdness [2C:14-4B(1)]. Cater was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.

At 10:23 a.m. on Oct. 19, in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police in regards to a handgun and ammunition found in a hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn located at 875 Paterson Plank Road on Oct. 15, police arrested a 54-year-old man, Mark Hicks of Greenville, NC for Possession of Prohibited Weapons, specifically a large capacity magazine [2C:39-3J] and Possession of Prohibited Weapons, specifically hollow-point bullets [2C:39-3F(1)]. Hicks entered Secaucus Police Headquarters for the purpose of turning himself in for the listed charges. He was processed for the complaint summons and was released from police custody.

At 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 19, Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail for the purpose of taking into custody a 28-year-old male, Jaquir Huntington of Paterson, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $1,000. Huntington was unable to post bail for the involved warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

At 1:41 a.m. on Oct. 20, Secaucus Police responded to the area of 595 County Avenue on a report of a car stopped on the roadway. It was further reported to the police that the operator of the vehicle looked to be unconscious. During the investigation, police arrested a 32-year-old woman, Cinnika Dubose of Paterson, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Dubose was issued her motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with an additional three motor vehicle summonses and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

At 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 20, Secaucus Police observed a motor vehicle idling in the parking lot of the Extended Stay Hotel at 1 Meadowlands Parkway. The occupant of the motor vehicle was observed to be sleeping in the driver’s seat. Police arrested a 38-year-old male, Kelson Jones of Secaucus, NJ for Possession of CDS believed to be Cocaine [2C:35-10A(1)] and Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Jones was issued his complaint summons along with four motor vehicle summonses and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

At 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 20, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 27-year-old man Abdul Mamouda of the Bronx, NY for Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Mamouda was issued his complaint summons along with three motor vehicle summonses and was released from police custody.

At 11:38 p.m. on Oct. 20, Secaucus Police responded to the Edison ParkFast at 675 New County Road on a report of an individual who appeared to be intoxicated operating a motor vehicle. Police arrested a 26-year-old woman, Alissa Devine of Fairfield, NJ for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. Devine was issued her motor vehicle summons for Driving While Intoxicated along with one additional motor vehicle summons and was released into the custody of a responsible adult.

At 2:46 a.m. on Oct. 21, during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 40-year-old man, Eric Ocasio of North Bergen, NJ for Possession of CDS believed to be Ecstasy [2C:35-10A(1)], Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police, Possession of a Prescription Legend Drug believed to be Sildenafil [2C:35-10.5A(3)], Certain persons not to have Weapons, [2C:39-7A] and two counts of Illegally Possessing a device which contained Mace [2C:39-6I(1)]. Ocasio was issued his complaint warrant along with 8 motor vehicle summonses and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Jail.

At 9:12 p.m. on Oct. 23 Secaucus Police observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of the Extended Stay Hotel at 1 Meadowlands Parkway. During the investigation, the police arrested a 20-year-old man, Edward Cho of Fort Lee, NJ for Exhibiting a False Government Document [2C:21-2.1C]. Cho was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.
