SECAUCUS, NJ — On Wednesday, Hudson Regional Hospital awarded EMTs and Secaucus Police officers for helping a woman and a man who were having cardiac emergencies on November 6 and December 16.
On Dec. 16, three Secaucus police officers — Christopher Boyko, Jonathan Padron and Justin Pardo— performed CPR to save the life of a man who stopped breathing while he was exercising at LA Fitness. The man was having a severe heart issue, and he stopped breathing, lost consciousness and his pulse.
A bystander at the gym, Juan Germosen, leaped in and immediately started CPR on the man, who was on the ground. The officers took over CPR and also had to use an AED machine four times on the man to regain his heartbeat and pulse.
