• A Latin American Restaurant Is Preparing to Close on October 30 (whatnow.com) — A longtime favorite, Salted Lime Bar & Kitchen on East Main Street in downtown Somerville will close on October 30 after eight years, leaving a big gap in the local dining scene. The owner announced the difficult decision on social media, thanked Somerville patrons for their support, and hinted that a new restaurant concept will soon take over the space.
   

• Somerville advances in Somerset County Tourney behind balanced attack (nj.com subscription) — Somerville High’s field hockey team just knocked off Montgomery 4–1 in the Somerset County Tournament’s first round on their home turf in Somerville, powered by a three-point night from Brielle Toth. The eighth-seeded Pioneers now move on to face top-seeded Pingry in Saturday’s quarterfinals, keeping local postseason hopes very much alive.
