• Baseball: South Plainfield Advances Past St. Joe's, 2-1, in GMC Tournament; McCarthy Gets 100th Career Strikeout (tapinto.net) — South Plainfield baseball fans just saw a big milestone, as senior pitcher Aiden McCarthy notched his 100th career strikeout while leading the Tigers to a 2-1 upset of defending champ St. Joe’s in the GMC Tournament. The fifth-seeded Tigers scratched out just three hits but manufactured key runs and now head to Metuchen for Wednesday’s quarterfinal matchup.
