1 COVID Death Reported In South Brunswick, As New Cases Decline

Despite the dip in new COVID-19 positive cases, officials have cautioned residents against relaxing preventive measures.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick township saw a dramatic dip in the number of COVID-19 positive cases in town during the week of Jan. 31 to Feb. 6.

This past week, the township reported 45 new COVID cases, representing a 56 percent decrease in new cases.

South Brunswick also reported one COVID related death.

Among the new cases, 22 were male and 23 female, with 11 being below the age of 18.

The total number of COVID cases among residents now stands at 1,971, with 55 deaths attributed to the virus.

Officials have however cautioned residents against relaxing preventive measures.

They asked residents to continue maintaining safeguards such as wearing face covering, social distancing and limiting large gatherings.
