65 New COVID-19 Cases Reported In South Brunswick

The township is seeing an increase in vaccination rates. New Jersey residents who are 16 and above are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The South Brunswick Office of Emergency Management (OEM) on Monday reported that 65 residents tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

In addition, 23 cases were reported from previous weeks, said officials. There were no COVID-19 related deaths.

Last week, 37 women and 28 men tested positive with the average age being 31 years old. There were 16 people under 18 who tested positive for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the state’s seven-day average for new positive cases is now the lowest it has been since February 21, said officials, down 2 percent from a week ago.

Beginning Monday, all New Jersey residents who are 16 years and above are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine.

Officials said that “increased vaccination rates gives us hope that conditions should be improving in the weeks to come.”

“We encourage residents to get vaccinated when they are eligible if they have not yet done so, and to take proper precautions to help avoid spreading the virus,” local health officials said.
