• Drop In Crashes Reported After South Brunswick PD's Summer Traffic Crackdown (patch.com) — South Brunswick police say their Operation Safe Summer crackdown cut local crashes by just over six percent, after thousands of traffic stops and summonses. The initiative targeted trouble spots identified by crash data and residents' complaints, and included planned roadway and signal improvements along Route 1 to keep drivers and pedestrians safer throughout the township.

• WHRHS Football: Watchung Hills Shuts Out South Brunswick in Season Opener, 14-0 (tapinto.net) — South Brunswick's high school football team was shut out 14-0 at home by Watchung Hills in Friday's season opener, marking the first win for new Warriors coach Joe Ascolese. The Vikings' best chance came at the 2-yard line, but Watchung Hills' defense held firm with a four-play goal-line stand.
