Regardless of the vaccine introduction, the Middlesex County Health Department advised this week that over the coming weeks and months, they anticipate the safeguard practices in effect to last through the rest of 2021.
This means residents need to wear face coverings, maintain social distancing, and minimize gatherings. This will allow authorities time to not only vaccinate a significant portion of the population but will help in controlling the spread.
Meanwhile, Gov. Phil Murphy extended New Jersey's public health emergency for the 10th time on Tuesday, as the state continues to report its highest daily case numbers. COVID-19 fatalities surpass the 20,000 mark sate-wide.
