SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick police are investigating an increase in car burglaries since the beginning of October, they announced Tuesday. Cars are mainly being entered through unlocked doors.
In all, nine cars were entered. The car burglaries occurred during the overnight hours in residential areas of Kendall Park and Dayton.
The suspect stole purses, change, wallets, gift cards, credit cards and personal documents, police said. Some car windows have been smashed when valuable property is left in the open. Interestingly, Woodbridge Township is seeing a similar sharp uptick this November and October in car break-ins, as well, although the two do not appear to be related.
