Another South Brunswick Street To Be Named After Local Veteran
Former police officer and Vietnam War veteran Hugh E. McNeil, Jr. Will be honored on Saturday in a street sign dedication ceremony.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A local veteran and former police officer will be honored by the Township in a street renaming ceremony this week.
South Brunswick will honor Hugh E. McNeil, Jr. in a “Veteran Street Sign Dedication Ceremony” to be held Saturday, 11 a.m. in the Municipal Complex, across from the Police station at 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction.
McNeil was selected to be recognized by the Township for his service and dedication to the country.

He enlisted into the United States Army in 1967, serving in the Vietnam War until his Honorable Discharge in February 1971.
McNeil was a Combat Medic during his time in the Army. He dedicated his life to the service of helping others, using the skills he learned in the Army to become a South Brunswick Police Officer, retiring after 31 years.

McNeil’s dedication is the latest of the Township’s Veteran Street Sign Program, allowing Wartime veteran residents to be recognized by adding their name to a secondary street sign.
Earlier this year, The township held a sign dedication ceremony at the intersection of Old Ridge Road, Ridge Road and Kara Boulevard, to honor local Veteran Kenneth Kersch.
