Ramu Vemulapalli won a $2 million prize in the Double Diamond Spectacular game.

He bought that ticket at the 6-Eleven Foodmart on Woodbridge Avenue in Edison.

“The retail store owner dreamt that I was going to win the jackpot,” Vemulapalli said in a prepared statement. “I felt that even if I didn’t win, indirectly, 30 percent of the money goes to help other people and education.”

The two men were among the winners who claimed instant ticket prizes in July.

Last month, a total of more than $102.4 million in instant ticket prizes was claimed, according to the lottery.

“Congratulations to all of our winners and to the retailers that sold the winning tickets,” Carole Hedinger, Executive Director said in a prepared statement.
