Driver Killed In South Brunswick Tractor-Trailer Crash: Police

Police said they found the tractor-trailer entangled with a flatbed tractor. The driver died of his injuries on the scene.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A truck driver was killed in a tractor trailer crash Monday night on Corn Road, according to South Brunswick police.

The incident happened shortly after 9:17 p.m. on Monday night when police said they received a 911 call. When officers arrived on the scene they found the tractor-trailer entangled with a flatbed tractor, police said.

A dozen firefighters from the Monmouth Junction Fire Department and the Jamesburg Fire Department were present to help the driver, who was entrapped.

Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad, paramedics and an emergency room doctor from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, along with a medical helicopter from Hackensack University Hospital worked to save the driver.

Police said firefighters called heavy-duty tow trucks from George's Garage to help separate the cab roof. Firefighters used cutting tools and the Jaws of Life in an effort to free the driver.

The truck driver, from Burlington County, died of his injuries on the scene.
