Senior Center Lobby Gallery Through December 29
Nimeck's ceramic collages began from a collection of broken pottery. Pieces brought images to mind that led to the creation of rondels or pottery poems for the wall. Rondel for Morning, Undersea Landscape, Galaxy, Tea Party and Kiss for Meggy Clark are some of these. Other wall pieces, White Opus and Triptych are simple abstractions incorporating thrown and hand-built fragments.
Nimeck studied pottery at Middlesex County College and later taught ceramics in their night school program. He has taught painting at the Senior Center and drawing at SB Adult School. Nimeck studied art at the Universities of Alberta, Texas and Wisconsin. He has exhibited in NJ and NY.
