Do you keep a journal of your vacation activities? Do you take the time to sit and enjoy the view while you travel? If so, bring examples to this workshop to share! If not, come and find a fun and inexpensive way to expand your travel experience by recording your memories in creative ways with a travel journal or sketchbook. Ideas about format and content will be displayed and discussed. Come away prepared to appreciate the places you go in a whole new way.
During the time that the library usually offers the Wednesday Wisdom lectures and film series, this summer will be used for Adult Summer Reading Events. The theme of the Summer Reading Program is Novel Destinations. We will have events every Wednesday at 1:30 in July and August that will center on the travel theme. We will have programs on travel photography, travel journaling and sketch books, travelogues, book reviews and travel trivia games. Keep your date with the library every Wednesday afternoon and join other armchair travelers as we explore the world through reading. Check the website or bulletin board in the library for specific events. Regular Wednesday Wisdom programming will resume in September. Please participate in the Adult Summer Reading Program: Novel Destinations. Submit an entry form for each book you read to be eligible for weekly prize drawings and for the Grand Prize of a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble to be drawn at the end of the program. Submit your favorite vacation photos for our "South Brunswick Travels" photo mural and plan to attend the end of summer open house on August 24 from 2 to 4 for food and fun.
Call or stop by the Information Desk for additional information. Pick up a Novel Destinations Bookmark Entry Form to record your reading and to participate in the prize drawings. Get the complete rules of the photo contest on the Photo Mural Entry Form which is available at the Information Desk or online at www.sbpl.info starting June 18, 2011.
