Extra DUI Patrols Added in South Brunswick
Reminder that extra DUI patrols will be on the roads starting Friday night.

South Brunswick, NJ - South Brunswick police will be running expanded DUI patrols throughout the township from now through the new year, the department announced Thursday.
There will be more cops out on evenings and weekends, looking for drunk drivers. Officers will be paid for the expanded DUI patrols using a $5,000 ”Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” grant from the state. There are no checkpoints; the patrols will do roving enforcement throughout the township. Woodbridge police already announced there will be DWI checkpoints on Rt. 9 and Rt. 184 starting Friday night.
The state Division of Highway Traffic Safety distributes the $5,000 grants to dozens of municipalities in New Jersey, with the aim of adding extra evening and weekend patrols to catch DUI drivers.
