Extra South Brunswick Cops On These Roads This Week

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Every week, the South Brunswick police department chooses certain roads for increased traffic patrols, and they always let the public know in advance which roads they will be on.

For the week of June 16 - June 22, these areas in the Township will receive additional focus:

1. Location: Davidson Mill Road

Issue: Speeding, Distracted Driving and Careless Driving

Times: 6:00-9:00am and 3:30-5:45pm

2. Location: Ridge Road- From Rt. 522 to Schalks Crossing Road

Issue: Speeding, Careless Driving, and Distracted Driving

Times: 7:15-8:45am and 2:00-5:30pm

3. Location: Route 130 & Route 522

Issue: Speeding, Improper Turns, Traffic Signal, and Improper Passing

Times: 7:00-8:45am and 4:30-6:00pm

4. Location: Rt. 1- From Rt. 522 to Independence Way

Issue: “Hard Shoulder” Violations

Times: 9:00am-4:00pm and 7:00pm-6:00am

Ongoing South Brunswick Road Work:

1. Location: Rt. 27- From New Road to Rt. 518

Issue: Franklin Twp Water Line Installation

Status: Work is projected from Monday June 17th. Route 27 Southbound will be closed from New Road to Route 518 from 8:00pm-6:00am. Emergency vehicles will have full access.

2. Location: Rt. 535 at the New Jersey Turnpike Overpass

Issue: Maintenance of the overpass. Traffic alternating on weeknights

Status: Work is projected to last through August

3. Location: Rt. 535- From Davidson Mill Road to Dunhams Corner Road

Issue: Middlesex County Road Department to Mill and Pave

Status: Scheduled paving June 14th and 17th 7am-3pm. **Anticipate delays**

4. Location: New Road- From Route 1 to Wheeler Road

Issue: South Brunswick Township Roadway Paving

Status: Scheduled June 17th to 20th 7am-2pm

5. Location: Route 522/New Road

Issue: Traffic Signal Improvements

Status: Scheduled June 14th and 17th 8pm-4am

Route 522 will be closed in one direction at New Road for approximately 1 hour each of the days. Detours will be posted, with the closure occurring during the overnight hours.
