First Day Of School, Traffic Enforcement: South Brunswick This Week

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Good morning, neighbors. Here's what's happening in town after the long weekend:

Back to School

Students from South Brunswick School district will be heading back to the classroom on Thursday, Sept. 7 after summer break.

In anticipation of students returning to school, police will enhance their presence around all schools and school zones. There will be nearly 7,500 students entering schools between 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. The dismissals at the schools are between 2:20 p.m. to 3:35 p.m.

In an effort to address recurring traffic safety concerns within the Township, South Brunswick Police will be conducting the following traffic enforcement through Sept. 8:

  • West Side - Ridge Road (Mon. Jct.): Speeding, distracted driving, and stop sign violations
  • East Side - Kingston Lane: Speeding, distracted driving, and fail to stop for pedestrians at crosswalks
