Free Festival Combines Circus and Dance

Somerset County and Central New Jersey look forward to the adventure of Alfonso and Penelope on June 4th.

This Saturday, June 4th, families and children from all over central New Jersey can enjoy an interactive festival that combines circus and dance to tell the story of Alfonso and Penelope. The festival is a free, family-friendly event where children get to participate in the action.

Visitors to the festival get to live the adventure of Alfonso and Penelope, two children who discover a magical token while rummaging through an old chest in their attic. This token transports them to a new world. Visitors who attend the Circus Dance Festival get to become Alfonso and Penelope. When they start the festival they reach into a wooden chest and get their own token. They pass through a portal that leads them onto the Circus Dance Festival grounds where they meet characters, see a street performer dance, or take on challenges like walking on stilts or hula hooping. Each character they meet tells another part of the story.

Hundreds of people are expected to attend. RSVP to secure your spot at the front of the line.
