Fundraiser For Plainsboro Man Fatally Struck By Amtrak Train

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Close friends of a Plainsboro man fatally struck by an Amtrak train are reaching out the community for support.
Sreekanth Digala was struck by an Amtrak train on Feb 28 near Princeton Junction. He was 39. Digala’s friends have started a GoFundMe to help his wife Suvarchala and 10-year-old son Aneesh.
“Sreekanth is the only breadwinner for his family and the sole responsible person for his 70+ year old parents and in-laws down in India,” the GoFundMe organizer wrote.

“He was a very good human being and a Hardworking individual as free-spirited, full of life, and always willing to help.”
The money raised through the fundraiser would go "directly to his family for their future needs like housing, education, and childcare,” the organizer said.

Digala was struck by the train around 6:45 p.m. as he was walking on the tracks east of the Princeton Junction station, reported NJ.com. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of Tuesday, over 1700 donors contributed $102,766 to the fundraiser. The goal is to raise $250,000.
