Gas Leak Prompts Closure Along Ridge Road In South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - Ridge Road in Monmouth Junction, between New Road and the Monmouth Junction Post Office is closed due to a gas leak. Police advise motorists to avoid the area and plan an alternate route.

According to the police, workers hit a gas line while excavating for a sidewalk. PSEG was on scene and immediately secured the gas line. One house was temporarily evacuated while officials checked gas readings, which were low, and the home was reoccupied, police said.

The road is currently closed as PSEG makes repairs.
