CRANBURY, NJ — There will be a candlelit vigil Sunday night, June 14 in memory of George Floyd and for victims of police brutality.
The vigil is organized by Isabel Sethi, a junior at Princeton High School, who wrote to Patch to get publicity for the event.
The vigil is called "Cranbury Candlelight Vigil: In Memory of George Floyd and Victims of Police Brutality” and it is co-sponsored by Princeton’s Coalition For Peace Action and the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice.

It will be held Sunday, June 14 at Cranbury Heritage Park and will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a musical performance by Olive Joseph. It will feature speakers such as Cranbury Mayor Matthew Scott, a representative of the Cranbury Police Force, Reverend Bob Moore of the Coalition for Peace Action, Robt Seda-Shreiber, chief activist at the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice and other student leaders from area high schools.
“I wasn’t able to sleep after watching the video. I clicked article after article, reading about Breonna Taylor, Kevin Hicks and Ronell Foster. And all I could think was how I wanted to do something, needed to do something, in order to help prevent the death of more innocent people. Which is why I organized this candlelight vigil,” said Sethi. “Our community — along with others across the country — are seeking increased accountability for police to stop their targeted violence against black people. We stand in solidarity with the black community, protestors and all those that are pushing for reform.”
