GoldenView Living Opens New Memory Care Residence

North Brunswick, NJ - Goldenview Living, a residential community which caters to individuals with memory loss and their families, is pleased to announce the grand opening of its North Brunswick location at 1313 Aaron Road. The grand opening ceremony will take place from 3:30-6:30 pm on Thursday, May 5, 2016 with Mayor Francis “Mac” Womack III hosting a ribbon cutting at 5:30 pm. Guests are invited to take a guided tour of the community and learn more about GoldenView’s services. Musical entertainment and catered refreshments will also be provided.

In 2014, The Alzheimer’s Association estimated that 5.2 million Americans were afflicted by Alzheimer’s, with 5 million aged 65 or older. Of these cases, 3.2 million were women, while 1.8 million were men. In New Jersey alone, current statistics show that Alzheimer’s as well as other dementias affect approximately 500,000 people.
Goldenview Living provides a wide range of institutional-level care serves for those suffering from Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia in a comfortable home setting. Services include assistance with daily living, medication management, nutritional care, transportation services and more.

The Alzheimer’s Association also reported that friends and family of those affected by memory loss provided an estimated 17.9 billion hours of unpaid care in 2014. Nearly 40% of those caregivers suffer from depression, which may be caused by stress from becoming overwhelmed due to a lack of training resources and understanding of these diseases.

Goldenview Living is aiming to change this statistic by offering a number of resources for caregivers as well, which are geared toward providing education and techniques for communicating with their loved ones who are affected by these diseases.
