The Griggstown Reformed Church will hold its 136th Annual Harvest Home on Saturday, August 20, 2016. This event brings together Griggstown residents and the surrounding communities for a day of fun, food and frolics.
Festival start time is 3:30 PM. From the opening, the food stand will be grilling hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage and chicken from Olsen’s BBQ, fresh corn on the cob, homemade veggie chili, baked beans, coleslaw and other foods available for reasonable prices. The baked goods stand is always open and festival-goers can buy homemade dessert for at the event or even to take home for another day. The Works - ice cream, angel food cake and peaches - is always a popular treat; along with the fresh baked pies of blueberry, apple and peach. Drinks are available including home-brewed birch beer and ginger ale.
Throughout the day, entertainment will be provided by the Blawenberg Band - a community band founded in 1890, singer Ashley McKinley and the GRC's own Praise Team Band. Attendees can stroll through the grounds of GRC and check out the Quilt display in the church building, the Silent Auction - which goes off at 6:30 PM, Margaret's Goodies and other local displays to include antique tractors, a local race team, and a model train display. The Believers Youth Group will have a table filled with homemade goods from spices to planters for purchase.
