Halal Food Festival To Be Held In South Brunswick
The fourth annual Original Halal Food Festival will be held Saturday in South Brunswick.

The fourth annual Original Halal Food Festival will be held Saturday in South Brunswick.
The event, sponsored by the Muslim Youth Community Center, will be held in Rowland Park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
It was the first of its kind when it begin in 2012, but now similar festivals are held around the world, a news release about the event said.

“Halal is a term used by Muslims to describe meat that has been slaughtered in the name of God,” the news release said.

The festival’s goal is to provide a family day of fun, while supporting local businesses that sell Halal foods.
There will be Chinese, Indian, Pakistani and Egyptian food, along with hamburgers and fried chicken.
There will also be dessert vendors, as well clothing, books and other items for sale.
All proceeds will benefit charitable community projects led by the youth center.
