IACFNJ celebrated India’s 71st Independence Day on August 26, 2017 in South Brunswick

IACFNJ celebrated India's 71st Independence Day on August 26, 2017, at Shree Swaminarayan Temple in South Brunswick, New Jersey:

Indo-American Cultural Foundation of Central Jersey (IACFNJ), a non-profit organization in central jersey celebrated India’s 71st Independence Day on Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shree Swaminarayan Temple (old YMCA), 329 Culver Road, South Brunswick. The fun-filled patriotic event was free and open to all public which was attended by local and state public officials.

After last seven years’ grand success and overwhelming community support, the organizers and executive committee of IACFNJ organized 2017 patriotic celebration of India’s Independence Day event with fun-filled entertainment and cultural activities, dance performances, traditional Indian dances, patriotic dances, DJ, live music and authentic Indian food sampling which was an outdoor event at the temple grounds. The program included singing of the American and Indian Anthems followed by the local and state public officials and dignitary’s addresses to the attendees and fun filled patriotic dances from the young and talented kids from the local dance groups of Latika Jethani, Meghana Goradia, Bina Master and Vandana Aiyer and live singing from RJ Usha of 8K Radio. South Brunswick Deputy Mayor Charlie Carley, Councilman Kenneth Bierman and New Jersey’s 16th legislative district Assemblyman Andrew Zwicker congratulated all participants for Independence Day and urged all to be a part of political process and get engaged with local officials to make a positive difference in the township and in the community.

The live DJ and music was provided by DJ Darshan of North Brunswick while mistress of ceremony was talented RJ Usha from 8K Radio. The authentic Indian food sampling was provided to all participants at end of the program. Many young high school students provided their community volunteer services during this event. The volunteer participants were awarded with certificate of volunteerism. TV Asia, Masalajunction.com, 8K Radio, Akila News, Divya Bhaskar, Tiranga, Feelins Magazine, Gujarat Darpan, Parikh Worldwide media, Sentinel, South Brunswick Patch, Radio Dil, Radio Chai, Gujarat Samachar, NRI Tribune, HiIndia and India West were the proud media supporters for this event.

IACFNJ dedicated Executive Committee under the leadership of President Dr. Tushar Patel, Chairman Hitesh Patel, Vice-Presidents Mahesh Patel and Deven Patel, Secretary Mac Shah and Treasurer Rajesh Patel and entire executive committee and trustees and their hard-working committee members worked very hard to bring this event a grand success once again this year. South Brunswick is ethnically diverse township with population of south Asians especially Indians with more than 23% according to the latest census. The community people from the surrounding towns of North Brunswick, East Brunswick, Franklin, Somerset, Monroe, Princeton, Princeton-Junction and West Windsor will attend this event. IACFNJ has been a leader in promoting South Asian culture and values to newer generation by organizing many activities for the past 15 years in Central Jersey. IACFNJ organizes summer picnic, Navratri Garba, cultural events to raise funds to support the local organizations and Diwali and Christmas celebrations. The next IACFNJ mega event will be Navratri Garba 2017 in South Brunswick on September 24, 29 and 30, 2017 at South Brunswick High School.
