Kendall Park Roller Skating Rink To Close Sunday

After 50 years in business, the last roller skating session at the Rt. 27 institution will be this Sunday, Nov. 26 from 2 to 5 p.m.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — The Kendall Park Roller Rink will close its doors this Sunday, Nov. 26, MyCentralJersey is reporting.

The South Brunswick Township institution will close this weekend after more than 50 years in business. It's located on Rt. 27 in the Kendall Park section of the Township. It's owned by Cliff Nazzaro, 76, who is originally from North Brunswick but now lives in Las Vegas. Nazzaro was a professional speed skater from 1954 to 1958, and actually holds the national title-holder for speed skating.

"There's people all over the country that know this rink is closing," Jim Kennedy, 69, of Monmouth Junciton told MyCentralJersey. Kennedy teaches people how to roller skate at the rink. "This is a pretty famous rink around the country."

"It's sad," Kennedy said. "Generations of people who skated here, their kids won't get a chance to skate it like their parents did and grandparents."

The last time the Kendall Park Roller Rink will be open for business is this Sunday, Nov. 26 from 2 to 5 p.m.
