Local Veteran Honored With Street Sign In South Brunswick
A Veteran Street Sign Dedication Ceremony was recently held to honor longtime resident Joseph Duca. See photos:

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — On Saturday, South Brunswick honored a local veteran with a Street Sign Dedication Ceremony.
The intersection of Ridge Road and New Road has now been named after Joseph Duca.
Duca moved to South Brunswick at an early age, graduating from South Brunswick High School in 1964.

Following graduation, he enlisted in the Army, earning his honorable discharge in July of 1967. He toured Vietnam, serving in the 73rd Engineer Company/84th Battalion.
This was followed by a return to Fort Belvoir, Virginia and another tour of duty in the Demilitarized Zone in Korea.

During his time in the Army, Duca attained the rank of Specialist 5, received the National Defense Medal, the Meritorious Unit Emblem, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal and the Sharpshooter Badge.
The Duca family is well known in South Brunswick for their service to the community.
Duca, along with his brothers Albert and Michael, served in the South Brunswick Police Department. They each achieved the rank of Sergeant.
Several family members, friends, and fellow residents joined Mayor Charlie Carley, Deputy Mayor Ken Bierman, and council members at the ceremony.
