Major South Brunswick Road to be Closed Starting Friday

South Brunswick, NJ - Be aware: Rt. 27, between Rt. 518 and Promenade Boulevard, will be closed to traffic in both directions this coming weekend.

That section of Rt. 27 will be shut down beginning this Friday, August 26 at 9 p.m. and will remain shut down until Monday, Aug. 29 at 6 a.m., when it is scheduled to reopen. Drivers are warned to expect delays and to seek alternate routes around Rt. 27 this weekend. Detours will be posted.

The road shutdown is so the New Jersey Dept. of Transportation can install a temporary bridge to be used for an upcoming scheduled drainage project, which will begin at a later date. The DOT says the drainage project is supposed to begin before the end of the summer.
