Municipal Offices Will be Closed For Juneteenth In South Brunswick
There will be no change in garbage and recycling pickup.
SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — In observance of Juneteenth, all Municipal offices in South Brunswick will be closed Monday .
In April this year, Council adopted a resolution declaring June 19 as an observed public holiday in the township. Earlier, Juneteenth was a floating holiday.
Also known as Emancipation Day, Freedom Day and Jubilee Day, Juneteenth is the oldest-known celebration of the end of slavery in the United States. In 2021, President Joe Biden signed legislation making it a federal holiday, the first since the addition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 1983.

Garbage and recycling pickup in South Brunswick will not be affected. The collection contractor will be performing normally scheduled Monday collections. Call the Public Works office with any questions at 732-329-4000, extension 7274.
