New Details Released In South Brunswick Gas Station Shooting

South Brunswick police announced Sunday they are looking for an older-model light brown/tan SUV in the shooting last Sunday, Oct. 15.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — South Brunswick police announced Sunday they are looking for an older-model light brown/tan SUV in the shooting that took place at the Rt. 27 BP gas station last Sunday, Oct. 15.

The victim, a South Brunswick resident, remains hospitalized in guarded condition. The 60-year-old gas station attendant was shot several times at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 at the BP Gas Station on Rt. 27 at Alston Road. The shooting was the result of a botched robbery, police say.

After interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video, the suspect vehicle is now believed to be an older-model light brown or tan SUV. The vehicle came from Rt. 27 south from the direction of New Road and pulled into the gas station. There were at least two suspects in the vehicle. The shooter exited the vehicle and is only described as a black male who had his face partially covered.
