North Brunswick Man Tried To Kidnap 4 Boys Walking Home From School: Prosecutor

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A North Brunswick man has been charged with attempting to kidnap four boys who were walking home from school last month, authorities said Wednesday.

Andrew Luna, 27, of North Brunswick, was arrested May 29 and charged with four counts of second-degree Attempted Kidnapping and four counts of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child in connection with an incident that occurred May 20 in North Brunswick.

According to investigators, the North Brunswick Police Department was notified May 20 that four boys had been approached by an unknown man, later identified as Luna, who followed them as they walked home from school and told them he wanted to take them home.

Detectives determined that Luna first approached two boys near the North Brunswick Library and attempted to kidnap them. After those boys fled the area, Luna immediately approached two other boys and tried again.

The investigation was conducted by Detective Sean McCorry of the North Brunswick Police Department and Detective Tammy Colonna of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. Luna was taken into custody without incident.
