Part Of Rt. 27 Closed Overnight Through June

Repairing a water main will require Rt. 27 to be closed between Rt. 518 and Promenade Blvd. weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 p.m. through June.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Starting this past Monday, March 27 the water main rehabilitation project that started last year resumed again on Rt. 27 between Rt. 518 and Promenade Boulevard, announced South Brunswick police.

The project will require Rt. 27 to be closed between Rt. 518 and Promenade Boulevard on weeknights from 8 p.m. to 6 p.m. through June, South Brunswick police announced.

The project is required to repair aging infrastructure and continue to provide a reliable supply of safe drinking water to the southern part of Franklin Township.

Emergency vehicles, residents and visitors will have access to homes and businesses within the closed area during this time. Through traffic will be detoured. This project is expected to be ongoing through June.

Traffic patterns may change during the course of the project; however drivers should expect a road closure between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. for most of the project. Detours will be posted. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible. Use caution when traveling in the area.
