Parts of Car Recovered from Hit-and-Run in South Brunswick
"We want the driver to come forward and explain what happened," said Sgt. Gary Holsten of the South Brunswick police.

Monmouth Junction, NJ - South Brunswick police announced Thursday that they recovered parts of the car that struck a man riding his bicycle on Ridge Road Feb. 1, including a passenger side mirror.
Police are looking for the driver who hit the man, sending him sprawling onto the asphalt and causing a head injury, and then fled the scene.
There were several witnesses to the crash. Police also recovered video from the area, they said. The man, 64, has written a public letter pleading for the driver to come forward and identify himself/herself.

The vehicle is described as a silver/grey four-door sedan. The incident happened Monday February 1 at 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ridge and Perrine roads. After the crash, the vehicle continued down Ridge Road to Rt. 1 without stopping. The bicycle and the vehicle were both traveling west on Ridge Road away from South Brunswick High School towards Rt. 1 at the time of the crash.
The victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He was treated for a head injury and later released.

Police are asking anyone who may have traveled on Ridge Road on Monday February 1st, between 11:20 a.m. and 11:35 a.m., and may have seen the vehicle to call police. Sergeant Gary Holsten of the South Brunswick Traffic Safety Bureau described the crash as a “side swipe.”
“We want the driver to come forward and explain what happened,” said Sgt. Holsten.
